VSCRC Rd1 Phillip Island 2015

Well now I have defrosted I can write a small blog.
This w/end was the First round of VSCRC or Victorian State Circuit Racing Championship, This round was held at Phillip Island Circuit a two day event with the following categories.
Formula Vees, Sport Sedans, Inproved production, Sports Cars, HQ Holdens, Formula Fords, MG's and British Sports cars, Historic Touring Cars, Saloon Cars and Porsche 944s.
I was assigned Post 2.0 for the w/end working with Paul M and Colleen flags, Michael our Sector and Russel on Coms. Saturday was dry and windy but a mostly sunny day with a few good spin offs but no contacts keeping us on our toes with no reports was a great day with Qualifying in the morning and racing in the afternoon. With rain overnight Sunday was very cold and a wet start with the wind coming straight from the south pole and was constant all day and a slight shower or two throughout  the day just to make it a bit colder if we take in the wind chill factor the morning was about 2 degrees and only managed a max of 8 degrees all day.
All categories had two races today morning races 7 laps and the afternoon races were 10 laps all drivers were good driving to the conditions with only some races on a wet track the wind kept the track dry for most races. We only had three reports all for Formula Fords which involved car to car contact and some missing wheels all drivers were good. Last event of the day Sport Sedans on last lap one went pass smoking slightly and what looked like dropping oil but it pulled into run off near post 4.0 on fire I think fuel leak, fire teams were on the seen quickly and fire out with some damage to front car we hope it will be fixable and back out next round.
Next Event Winton V8s May 15th to 17th until then stay safe have fun.
